After 32 years of producing the annual Bill Reed Musical Theatre Summer Intensive, this year Bill is taking a sabbatical to work on a book. The intensive will not be held in 2019. Workshops, cabarets and concerts will be offered as usual during the academic year.
We’re looking forward to resuming the intensive in 2020. General information from the 2018 intensive appears below.

- 7:30 p.m. Rising Stars Fundraising Concert
Participants must be present for the entire Check-In and Orientation session. They should be picked up at 6 p.m. and returned after dinner for the 7:30 p.m. Rising Stars Fundraising Concert. Parents are invited and encouraged to attend the concert, as well.

Participants will perform in one of the two recitals, and recital times will be assigned during the intensive week.

The building will be open by 8:15 a.m. Please arrive early in order to start the Group Warm-up promptly at 8:30 a.m.
REQUIRED INFORMATION AND FORMS
Please complete and return the 2018 Intensive Liability Consent Form. This paperwork must be received by Sunday, June 17 in order to for the student to participate in the intensive. If you prefer, you may send a scan or photo of the form to firstname.lastname@example.org.
If you would like to confirm your balance due, please email email@example.com. We appreciate your payment in full at or before registration check-in on Sunday, June 17. No tuition refunds will be made after registration.
Our preferred method of payment for balances due is PayPal, directed to the email address firstname.lastname@example.org. Our PayPal account has recently undergone changes: If you have made PayPal payments to us in the past, please double-check to be certain your payment is directed to email@example.com.
Payments may also be made by check, payable to Bill Reed Voice Studio and mailed to 1967 Spear St., South Burlington, VT 05403.
Participants should prepare and memorize two songs in advance: One ballad and one up-tempo, in legit and/or belt style. Please bring sheet music for each song for the accompanist. We ask students to prepare two songs to avoid duplication. If you have discussed your song selection with Bill Reed, one selection is sufficient. If you have questions about repertoire, or to schedule a private lesson to review your song selections, please email firstname.lastname@example.org.
WHAT TO BRING
Tuition for the intensive includes all associated materials and activities. Please plan to bring:
- Comfortable clothes and shoes for dance/movement
- Yoga mat and a towel for morning yoga warm-up
- Water bottle (there are water fountains in the building)
- Snacks and a bag lunch, or a small amount of money for meals (Healthy Living Market & Café and Trader Joe’s are within walking distance)
- Sheet music for each of your songs (for your accompanist)
- Digital recording device (optional)
- Check to pay your instructor for private lessons
PRIVATE LESSONS WITH MUSICAL THEATRE FACULTY
During the intensive, participants may take optional, private lessons with all Musical Theatre Faculty for an additional fee. Private lessons will be scheduled on a first-come, first-served basis Tuesday through Friday from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. and will have a set fee of $75/hour, $60/three-quarters of an hour and $45/half-hour. Students must sign up for lessons directly with the instructor during program check-in. Payment by check, payable to the instructor, is required at sign-up. Signing up for private lessons constitutes an agreement between the student and the instructor: The student agrees to arrive on time and prepared for the lesson, and the instructor agrees to provide the lesson. No refunds will be given if a student misses a lesson.
Evening Workshop with Alan Langdon
By popular demand, Alan Langdon will offer an optional Acting through Song workshop on Wednesday, June 20 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Fees are $50 for Participants and $25 for Auditors. To preregister for this workshop, please email email@example.com.
RISING STARS CONCERT
We hope you’ll join us for the Rising Stars Fundraising Concert on Sunday, June 17 at 7:30 p.m., at Spotlight Vermont. This evening of Broadway, opera, and ballads features performances by professional and current Bill Reed Voice Studio students. Tickets are available at the door by donation ($10 suggested), and all proceeds benefit the Musical Theatre Summer Intensive scholarship fund.
