Alan Langdon, a celebrated teacher of theater and musical theater, has taught and developed training programs at schools and theaters around the world. He currently teaches scene study, European/Chekov scene study, and musical theater scene study at the Circle in the Square Theater School in New York City. He is the former Head of the Circle in the Square/NYU TISCH undergraduate program, and was the chairman of the theater programs at Hiram College and Simpson College.
Alan has directed off-Broadway, regionally, and at Universities and Colleges. He headed the intern program at Williamstown Theater Festival.
He has acted off-Broadway in the original production of The Fantasticks and in Intimate Relations. Actors who have studied with him include Philip Seymour Hoffman, Felicity Huffman, Mathew Lillard, Idina Menzel, Benicio del Toro, and Molly Shannon.
Alan has been cited in Outstanding Educators in America and Who’s Who Among Teachers.
